FOOD & DRINK

Our city of Harrisonburg has been growing in the last few years like never before, thanks to the Downtown Renaissance. We have 5 breweries, dozens of awesome restaurants, a bike courier food delivery service, amazing shops, fantastic coffee shops, and delicious bakeries!

Extra Info

Harrisonburg has an absolutely amazing bicycle coalition (Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition) dedicated to cycling in Harrisonburg, Staunton, the National Forest, the Western Slope, and the surrounding area. We are so stoked to be members of such an awesome group of people. The coalition hosts annual cycling events, and does so much for our cycling community.

LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR COALITION!

Harrisonburg
has it all...

... A wonderful bike community, a great and growing downtown, endless miles of trails and roads. We are so excited for you to visit, and hope we are able to make your bike experience here one of the best adventures you've ever had!

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Right inside the city, we have Hillandale Park with over 7 miles of single track, with every level of trail so it is family friendly and great for those looking to challenge their mountain bike skills!

Just a 30 minute drive from the city is the George Washington National Forest with over 100 miles of singletrack and forest roads. One of the biggest local mountain bike races of the year takes place in the national forest - the Shenandoah Mountain 100 - it's an event you don't want to miss!

To ride at the Massanutten Western Slope, also just a short drive from town, visit this website to get yourself set up and rolling!

Where do I ride?

Everyone at the shop is always more than happy to point out trails on our National Geographic Maps (for sale), point you in the right direction on the latest trail apps, or tell you which roads are our favorites!

Rocktown also has a page dedicated to bicycle routes for our area. This page gives you all the info you could need on the route, and gives you a link to be able to download the route for your GPS device OR print out a cue sheet! You can do this on your own at home, or we can get you set up at the shop!

If you are looking to stay away from the hills, there are plenty of options in the valley. Looking for a mountain to climb? Well you're in luck there too because we are surrounded by mountains!

If gravel adventure is what you seek, we have an awesome range of gravel roads - from cinders to gnarly forest service roads
